You're an adult, you've grown up.
You've lived your life
learned your lessons
seen the world
and changed lives.
You've faithfully been
a good person.
And now, things have changed
and you have to be
the learner all over again
learning new lessons
about pain and broken hearts
war and destruction.
And I've never been prouder.
Prouder of you.
For you have marched on
as a wounded soldier would.
You found a certain strength
and put yourself back together
piece by piece
to create a new life,
a more peaceful life,
a safe life,
where there is no war
to fight everyday.
No war to drain you,
of you.
You're doing a good job.
And I am so proud of you.
So thank you, mom.
